So, if you’re anything like me, you’ve pretty much stopped listening to radio. It’s not that I have anything against radio, it’s just that these days I’m in the business of picking out my own songs. Especially because most days I’m looking for something specific in my listening experience. Some days, I’m looking for inspiration for my writing, and other days, I need a little pick me up to tackle my work week. For this reason, I’ve created a play list of motivational songs. I want to share with you my top 7 go-to-songs that get me excited to take on the world.
1. Rachel Platten’s “Fight Song.” I know you’re probably thinking this song is way played out. I understand, but the song, the lyrics, still do something to me. Especially this line “And I don't really care if nobody else believes 'Cause I've still got a lot of fight left in me.” I mean haven’t you been there? Surrounded by naysayers? For this reason, I have this song on my list. To remind me that it’s never too late.
2. One Republic’s “I lived.” My favorite line, “Hope that you spend your days, but they all add up.” This line reminds me to take risks. I always need a reminder.
3. The Script’s “Hall of a Fame.” Yeah, when this song came out, it was my ring tone. Favorite line “Be believers, be leaders, Be astronauts, Be champions, Be truth seeker.” I love this line because it’s telling us to be whatever we want. Just Believe!
4. American Author’s “Best Day of My Life.” Why? Because this song is AWESOME! I mean please go listen, you can’t help but get ready for life with this song. “This is gonna be the best day of my life.” This is my favorite line because it reminds me of how I should feel about every single day.
5. Sia’s “Unstoppable.” I love anything by Sia, but this one really gets be going, my favorite line “I'm unstoppable I'm a Porsche with no brakes.” I mostly like this line because it was so creatively written.
6. Justin Timberlake’s “I Can’t Stop the Feeling.” This is song is bouncy, lovely, happy and I just love everything about it. Favorite line, “I got this feeling inside my bones.” This is how the song opens and it instantly gets me in a good mood. Try listening to it every morning while you’re getting ready for work.
7. Katy Perry’s “Rise.” Oh my God you guys, this song is everything! My favorite lines, “Oh, ye of so little faith Don't doubt it, don't doubt it Victory is in my veins I know it, I know it.” I feel so strong and ready after listening to this song that I can’t help but be super productive right afterwards.
There you have it. I hope you take some time to listen to these songs so that each day you start your day with a little love and inspiration. Or, I hope I’ve inspired you to create your own kick-ass motivation playlist.
