Merry Christmas, everyone,
Well, it's that time of year again when we get to share our favorites of the year. Some of the things I'm about to share with you might be new to you, and others you might have tried before. No matter what, I hope that I give you some gift ideas for yourself, or for a loved one. So here we go, in no particular order here are my favorites of 2019.
When you're done here, you can head on over to my YouTube channel to watch me chat a little more about these items and why they mean so much to me.
1. Diffuser
If you've never had a diffuser, then I'm telling you, you're missing out. If you're anything like me, and you're sensitive to strong scents, then a diffuser is perfect for you. Not to mention the health benefits that come with diffusing essential oils vs. burning a strong scented candle. Some of those benefits are: promotes better sleep, improves concentration, supports the immune system and much much more.
If you don't know who Gabby Bernstein is, then this is the perfect time to get introduced to her. Super Attractor is her latest book and it's just as amazing as all her others. In this book she walks you through how to become an attractor in life, so to attract the things you want. From mindfulness practices to practical lifestyle steps, this book will teach you how to live the life of your dreams. It's a winner in my eyes.
Also by Gabby Bernstein are these amazing Mantra Cards which I use daily. This 52-card deck is what I start each morning with. I shuffle the cards, and with a little prayer, I pick one out at random to serve as inspiration for the day. If you've never tried Mantra cards before, I highly recommend that you start with these. Not only are they beautiful with positive messages, but they are a great quality which will last you for years to come.
4. Save The Cat Writes a Novel
If you follow me on Instagram or YouTube, then you already know about my obsession with this book, so of course, it had to make the list. This book is the single best resource I've ever read on writing (and I have a degree in English with a concentration on creative writing). Save the Cat Writes a Novel reveals the 15 beats (plot points) that make for a successful story. The book has 10 examples from different novels, from different genres, all using the method. It is my FAVORITE find of the year. And if you're a writer, you NEED to get this book today.
In case you don't know, I just released My Book Companion Journal. The reason this made the list is that this journal helped me finish the first draft to my novel, plus it helped me with rewriting my next release. It has helped to inspire me and remind me of my worth and my love for writing. Writing a novel not only takes discipline, but it takes a certain mindset. If you're not careful, you can fall victim to things like imposter syndrome, comparison, and feelings of unworthiness. The journal was designed to help writers remember their worth and the love they have for writing. If you want to get back to the real reason you started writing in the first place, then this journal is for you.
If you're in the voice-over space or podcasting and you've been looking for an affordable microphone that delivers good quality, then this is mic is for you. I just got it a couple of months ago and it's truly made a huge difference in the quality of my voice overs. If you swing by my YouTube channel, you can listen to the quality of the mic here.
7. Beachbody 3 Week Yoga Retreat
I believe a lot of people don't exercise or stick to their workouts because they don't enjoy what they're doing. For me, it's all about Yoga. That's what I like, and that's what I stick to. So, when Beachbody released this program, I was all over it. This three-week yoga retreat program is one that I've been doing for over a year, and I'm still challenged by it. It's one of my favorite things about my morning routine, one that I actually look forward to doing.
8. Pukka Chamomile, Vanilla & Manuka Honey Tea
I don't know why, but for years I wanted to be a tea drinker so badly, but I couldn't find a single tea that I enjoyed. That is until I found this one. This tea is delicious, but most importantly it does a wonderful job of winding me down at the end of the evening. So, if you're like me and want to love tea but can't find one that you love, then check this brand out. They have a ton of different flavors.
For years I heard about the benefits of Matcha and this year I decided to put it to the test. I love this particular one because it comes with collagen. In the past, I've struggled with joint pain, but after adding this product to my diet I've seen significant improvement in my overall health. Some of the benefits of Matcha are; lowers blood sugar and cholesterol; improves alertness and concentration; high in antioxidants, and helps to prevent cancer. Benefits of collagen; promotes healthy growth of hair and nails; helps with gut health and it moisturizes skin from the inside out.
10. Dutch Oven
I'm not the chef in our home, but I love the way our food comes out with our new dutch oven. I don't know about you, but there's nothing better than soups or a hearty stew during the cold winter months. We use our dutch over at least 4-5 times a week. Plus, since getting our dutch oven, we've been cooking enough for leftovers which is something I was never a fan of but I'm totally in love with now. So, if you've been thinking of taking your cooking game to the next level, then you might want to consider getting one of these puppies.
Well, there you have it. These are my favorites of 2019, which I will continue loving well into 2020. I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. See you in 2020!
