Mari Suggs Romance Author

New Book Release by Marissa Meyer (Author of The Lunar Chronicles)

I’m not exactly sure how I missed this, but I did. Marissa Meyer is the author of the Lunar Chronicles, the series that includes Cinder, Scarlet, Cress Winter and Fairest: Levana’s Story. I typically have a hard time with series, I’m more of a standalone-book type of chick. But I could not put these books down. I couldn’t wait to get to the next one. And, after I finished the series I had that feeling, you know, the one when you wish you hadn’t read a book yet just so you could experience it for the first time again. Know what I mean? Anyway, I was notified of her latest release, which is no problem except that it was released on November 8, 2016 and I totally missed it. So if you’re like me and missed it here’s a little bit about the book. Thankfully, this is a standalone novel!

Long before she was the terror of Wonderland—the infamous Queen of Hearts—she was just a girl who wanted to fall in love.

Long before she was the terror of Wonderland, she was just a girl who wanted to fall in love. Catherine may be one of the most desired girls in Wonderland, and a favorite of the unmarried King of Hearts, but her interests lie elsewhere. A talented baker, all she wants is to open a shop with her best friend. But according to her mother, such a goal is unthinkable for the young woman who could be the next queen.

Then Cath meets Jest, the handsome and mysterious court joker. For the first time, she feels the pull of true attraction. At the risk of offending the king and infuriating her parents, she and Jest enter into an intense, secret courtship. Cath is determined to define her own destiny and fall in love on her terms. But in a land thriving with magic, madness, and monsters, fate has other plans.

In her first stand-alone teen novel, the New York Times-bestselling author dazzles us with a prequel to Alice's Adventures in Wonderland.

So, I’m not a huge fan of the Alice in Wonderland franchise, but because Meyer’s did such a wonderful job with the Lunar Chronicles I’m willing to give it a shot.

I will put this on my cue-to-read.
